Twin Cities Film Festival | October 29, 2013

I was the educational intern at the Twin Cities Film festival this year. I started the internship in July and it ended in October.  I worked long hours for the festival.  I met with my boss and we thought of topics for the panels, who we can bring in, and organized all the education events. I learned a lot during the panels.  Some of the topics of the panels were networking, women in film, marketing in the digital age, and legalities of filmmaking. I have been to many festivals, and TCFF was one of the best.

Sweet Corn | September 27, 2013

Back in September, I worked on a short film name Sweet Corn.  It was shot in St. Cloud MN, so I stayed in a hotel with the cast and crew. That was a new experience because I have never stayed in a hotel for a shoot before.  I worked on Sweet Corn for three days and it still amazes me on how much work goes into production.  You really have to love filmmaking to stick with it.

The Little Film That Could | September 15, 2013

After I graduated from MCTC in 2011, I was very fortunate to be asked to direct a short film. White Rabbit was that short film. I had a lot of firsts with White Rabbit. It was my first film that wasn’t for school, and it was the first time I worked with a budget. During production, I didn’t know White Rabbit would have the success it has today. The film was widely acclaimed at its premiere. I felt confident that White Rabbit would succeed at film festivals. The first festival the film screened at was at The National Film Festival for Talented Youth in Seattle, Washington. White Rabbit screened at Cannes this past May. After Cannes, the Festival Programmer from Skyline Indie Film Fest in Virginia contacted me about White Rabbit screening Skyline. After two years of White Rabbit being completed it has had failures and successes, but I never imagined this film would do such wonders.
